Can a Front that Stands Divided Win?
In my continued, and somewhat unhealthy, obsession with right-wing talk radio, I heard Laura Ingram and Glenn Beck both weigh in on the Carrie Prejean-Larry King interview yesterday.
They had conflicting commentaries.
For Laura, it was another news story that nearly made her head burst (are there any other kind for her?). Larry King was a monster and Carrie the victim of unfair, brutal questioning.
For Glenn, Carrie was an amateur who should have walked off the set when she threatened to leave (but then stayed). According to Glenn and his fellow commentators, Carrie was a young, naive, girl who came off as a complete hypocrite.
This I can buy.
I questioned her no-gay-marriage-stance myself after hearing she settled on a lawsuit with the Miss USA Pageant when it came to light that she had a sex-tape. But then one of Glenn’s cohorts went on to make the comment that maybe she was just having, “… a dumb blond” moment.
UGH! I thought when I heard the dumb blond reference. Here I was agreeing with their stance of Carrie Prejean’s hypocrisy and then they had to turn into these complete misogynistic parodies of themselves.
Just to clarify, I don’t have a problem with her having a sex tape. I don’t think it makes her less of a woman. It does, however, discredit her if she is preaching Christian values. I”m sure that the conservative party has a female who doesn’t preach, “no sex before marriage…and no marriage unless you’re a man and woman about to wed,” but has a sex tape in her VHS collection; or, someone who appears hell bent on choosing fame over politics (you know, someone who won’t go rogue).
Maybe I just haven’t heard of her yet. She’s gotta be out there though, right? Surely there is one woman who is more than just fiscally conservative. She has to be against gay marriage and abortion (and, for the most part, women’s rights) with a clean history to back up her beliefs.

Ugh! Enough already, stop politicizing every single story…PLEASE!
Top Three Stories Most Likely to Show Up on Fox News:
- Jon Gosselin’s bad press a result of a left wing feminist conspiracy to discredit divorcee dads.
- Miss Universe pageant unfairly discriminates against conservative contestants by not paying for boob jobs (oh wait, that one kind of already happened).
- James Cameron’s new flick inspired by anti-Americanism propaganda that is infecting our great nation.
You heard it here first…well, actually you heard the Miss Universe story on Hannity first, but you know what I mean.

Hmmm…irony?
It appears that Ms. Carrie Prejean has a sex tape somewhere out there roaming around, causing usual sex tape trouble.
Wonder if she still feels that people’s private bedroom antics should be judged?
